Where does yoga get its authenticity from?
Over the years yoga has grown and expanded in so many ways. It is on occasion almost impossible to see how the yoga we practice now stems from original teachings. We encounter new forms, styles and teachings as each year goes by… does this mean that ‘true yoga’ is losing its authenticity. Is yoga becoming many watered down and metamorphosed versions of what once was?
Over the next few weeks in my classes I will be using some of the original classical yoga texts to find reference to ‘true’ yoga to draw back what I feel is some of the authenticity we have lost sight of.
“No effort on the yoga path is ever lost, nor can any obstacle ever hold one back forever. Just a little progress on this path can protect one from the greatest fear”
